Detectives Charge Three Suspects with Human Trafficking and Prostitution Offenses

For Immediate Release: Friday, June 15, 2018

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Vice and Intelligence Unit along with investigators from the Gaithersburg Police Department Street Crimes Unit, and the Rockville City Police Department Street Crimes Unit have arrested and charged Hong Wang, age 56, and Xiaoxia Lin, age 42, both from the 12500 block of Laurel Grove Road in Germantown, and Hanfeng Zhang, age 55, of the 19600 block of Gunners Branch Road in Germantown, with prostitution and human trafficking-related offenses.

In December of 2017, the Montgomery County Police Department became aware of possible prostitution and human trafficking occurring at four massage parlors located in Montgomery County.

Through investigation, detectives identified two massage parlors located at 966 Hungerford Drive, a massage parlor located at 7246 Muncaster Mill Road in Derwood, and a massage parlor located at 28 South Frederick Avenue in Gaithersburg.  Investigators learned that the four massage parlors were owned and/or operated by Lin, Wang, and Zhang.

During the investigation, detectives identified that two Asian females (both of whom possessed identification indicating that they were from the State of New York) were being housed in an apartment in the 800 block of Clopper Road in Gaithersburg.  Detectives observed Lin driving the females to the four massage parlors in order to work.   Detectives further learned through interviews that females who were working in the four spas would often provide sexual services to the male customers.

On June 12, detectives obtained arrest warrants for Lin, Wang, and Zhang charging them with human trafficking and prostitution offenses.  All three were arrested on the strength of the Montgomery County warrants.  Lin and Wang are currently being held on a $25,000 bond.  Bond information for Zhang is not currently available.

This is an ongoing investigation and detectives anticipate that additional suspects may be charged.  Detectives believe that Lin, Wang, and Zhang, may have engaged in the human trafficking of additional victims.

Investigators are urging anyone who has information with regard to criminal activity involving any of these suspects to contact the Vice and Intelligence Unit at 240-773-5959.
