Fatal Pedestrian Collision Investigated in Silver Spring

Detectives from the Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a fatal collision involving a pedestrian that occurred late last night in Silver Spring.

On Thursday, June 21, at approximately 11:19 p.m., 3rd District officers and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to New Hampshire Avenue at Oakview Drive for a personal injury collision.  Preliminary investigation revealed that an adult female was crossing northbound New Hampshire Avenue at Oakview Drive when she was struck by a white, 2005 Ford Mustang operated by Hafiz Ajaga Usongo Mbang, 22 years old, of White Oak.  The female pedestrian succumbed to her injuries at the scene.  Mbang remained on the scene.  The pedestrian will be identified once family has been notified.
