Concern for Missing Juvenile from Wheaton Area

Update: 6/28/18 - Melvin Amaya has been located safe and unharmed.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department - Special Victims Investigations Division are asking the public for help in locating a male juvenile missing from the Wheaton area.

Melvin Gabriel Amaya, age 16, of the 2300 block of Blueridge Avenue, has been reported missing by his family.  Amaya is described as a Hispanic male, 5’06” tall and weighing 145 pounds.  He has black hair and brown eyes. Amaya was last seen wearing gray pants with an orange long-sleeved shirt.

Police and family are concerned for Amaya’s welfare.

Anyone who has information regarding the whereabouts of Melvin Amaya is asked to call the Montgomery County Police Special Victims Investigations Division at 240-773-5400 or the police non-emergency number at 301-279-8000 (24 hours).
