Detectives Investigate Commercial Robbery in Silver Spring; Video Surveillance of Suspects Released

Detectives from the Major Crimes Division are investigating a commercial robbery that occurred on Friday, July 27, at a Silver Spring business.  Today, investigators are releasing video surveillance of the robbery and are asking for the public's help in identifying the three suspects.

On Friday, July 27, at approximately 6:49 p.m., officers responded to Esther's Beauty Salon/Supplies located at 9309 Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring for the report of an assault in progress.  Detectives determined that three suspects entered the store and attempted to steal wigs.  As the two employees, a 74-year-old male and a 59-year-old female attempted to prevent this theft, they were assaulted and pepper sprayed by the suspects.  During the struggle, the male employee received a laceration to his head.  Both victims were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  The suspects fled from the store with one wig.

Detectives are releasing video of the robbery and are asking anyone with information about this robbery or the suspects to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773- 5070.
