Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – 3
rd District Investigative Section have been investigating an August 3 shooting where a gun was fired into an occupied home in the Piney Branch area. The Department is asking anyone with information to call investigators. There were no reported injuries during this shooting.
On Friday, August 3 at approximately 7:24 a.m., 3
rd District officers responded to a residence in the 1000 block of Quebec Terrace for the report of a shooting that had just occurred. Through the course of the investigation it was learned that a gold or tan-colored SUV approached the front of a home on Quebec Terrace and that the front seat passenger discharged a firearm multiple times toward the home.
During the shooting, it was learned that the suspect reloaded the handgun and continued to discharge the firearm toward the home. The suspect who fired the shots is described as an African American male, 20-30 years of age, 6’ tall, and with a thin build. The suspect had short black hair, a thin black beard and was last seen wearing a dark blue hooded-sweatshirt, dark pants, and white shoes.
During the investigation, officers observed a broken window on the front of the home. Investigators recovered a bullet fragment from inside the residence. Officers further located numerous spent shell casings in the roadway of Quebec Terrace and a bullet fragment in the roadway of Quebec Street.
