Concern for Missing Gaithersburg Man

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – 6th District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing Gaithersburg man.

Marcus Shawn McCowan Jr., age 31, who resides in a group home on West Side Drive, was last seen by caretakers on Monday, August 20 at approximately 8:00 a.m., when he left the group home on foot.

Marcus Shawn McCowan Jr. is described as an African American male, 5’ 11” tall, and weighing 300 pounds. He has short black hair, brown eyes, and a short beard.

Police and caretakers are concerned for Marcus Shawn McCowan Jr.’s emotional and physical welfare.
