Detectives Investigate Accidental Death in Potomac

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division are investigating an accidental death that occurred this morning in Potomac.

This morning (Thursday, August 23), at approximately 8:43 a.m., 2nd District officers and Fire/Rescue personnel responded to The Heights School located at 10400 Seven Locks Road for the report of a construction accident.  Investigation revealed that members of a construction crew had been working outside of the school and were moving a portable building.  While moving the building, the building struck a construction worker.  The construction worker succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The victim is identified as John Thomas Moran Jr., age 27, of Charity Court in North East, Maryland.

The Maryland Occupational Safety and Health Department was notified and is assisting in the ongoing investigation.
