Colesville Area Shooting Investigated as Domestic-Related Murder-Suicide

Detectives with the Montgomery County Police Department - Major Crimes Division are investigating a multiple victim shooting as a domestic-related, murder-suicide.

On Monday, September 17, at approximately 12:06 a.m., 4th District officers along with Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the 100 block of Amberleigh Drive for the report of multiple victims shot within a residence at that address.  Five individuals, who investigators believe are family members were located.  A 57-year-old male and a 48-year-old female succumbed to their injuries on the scene.  A 22-year-old female and two juveniles, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, were transported to local trauma centers and remain in critical condition.

Preliminarily, detectives believe that this is a domestic-related event that was contained within the home.  This investigation is ongoing.  As more information is able to be confirmed, it will be released.
