Detectives Investigate Fatal Collision Involving Motorcycle in Rockville

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department-Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a fatal collision involving a motorcyclist that occurred tonight in Rockville.

At approximately 6:42 p.m., 1st District officers, Rockville City police officers, and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to East Gude Drive at Taft Street for the report of a collision involving a motorcycle and vehicle.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the operator of a 2015 Honda CBR 300 R motorcycle was traveling east on East Gude Drive.  The driver of a 1999 Lincoln Navigator was traveling west on East Gude Drive and was attempting to make a u-turn onto eastbound East Gude Drive.  The motorcycle and vehicle collided in the intersection.

The motorcyclist, identified as Priscilla Anne Alves, age 26, of Flack Street in Silver Spring, was transported to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.  The driver of the Navigator, identified as Quentin Bernard Wellmaker, age 27, of Pear Tree Court in Silver Spring, was not injured in the collision.
