Detectives Conducting Death Investigation Following Germantown House Fire

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division are conducting a death investigation following a house fire that occurred this afternoon in Germantown.

On Wednesday, October 10 at approximately 12:02 p.m., 5th District officers and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to a house fire in the 19200 block of Cross Ridge Drive.

Once Fire and Rescue personnel rendered the home safe, firefighters entered the residence and located an adult male deceased in the home.

The decedent’s body has been transported to Baltimore where the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) will conduct an autopsy.  The decedent will be identified once family members have been notified.
