Detectives Investigate Rockville Rape

Detectives with the Montgomery County Police - Special Victims Investigations Division are investigating a rape that was reported to police on the evening of Monday, October 22.

At approximately 6:30 p.m., 1st District officers, Rockville City Police officers, and officers from the Metro Transit Police Department responded to the area of the Twinbrook Metro Station located at 1600 Chapman Avenue in Rockville for the report of a rape.

Preliminary investigation identified a 16-year-old female who reported that she boarded a bus in the Wheaton area at Randolph and Selfridge Roads.  She and a male passenger, who was on the bus when she boarded, began conversing while the bus traveled to the Twinbrook Metro.  Upon arrival, they both exited the bus.

The victim told investigators the suspect forced her to a nearby parking garage on Fishers Lane where he raped her in a stairwell.  After the assault, the suspect walked the victim back to the Metro station and left the area.

The suspect is described as an African American male, 19 - 25 years old, and is 5' 10" to 6' 00" tall.  He has a thin build, possibly weighing 150 pounds.  He also has a tattoo under his right eye.

Detectives are continuing to investigate this rape and are working to provide additional details.  More information will be released as it is confirmed.
