MCP Investigates Officer-Involved Shooting in Germantown

For Immediate Release: Sunday, November 11, 2018

Detectives with the Major Crimes Division are investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred this afternoon in Germantown.

Today at approximately 2:41 p.m., 5th District officers responded to Cross Laurel Court for the report of a man in the street with a gun.

Arriving officers encountered an adult white male in the cul-de-sac in possession of a gun.  During the encounter with officers, the male was shot.

Officers rendered first aid and called for the assistance of Fire and Rescue personnel.  The male was transported to a local hospital for treatment. He remains in serious condition.  No officers were injured during the encounter.

This is an ongoing investigation. As information is confirmed it will be released to the public. Anyone with information regarding this shooting is asked to contact the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070.
