Concern for Missing Burtonsville Man with Dementia

Update: November 21, 2018 at 6:20 p.m. - Richard Scott has been located safe and unharmed.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – 3rd District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s help to locate a missing 58-year-old Burtonsville man who has dementia.

Richard Scott was last seen leaving his Leatherwood Court home on foot at approximately 8:00 a.m. today (Wednesday, November 21).  Mr. Scott is not familiar with public transportation.   Family reports that Mr. Scott routinely takes walks along Columbia Pike (Route 29) into Howard County.

Mr. Scott is described as an African American male, 5’ 10” tall and weighing 170 pounds.  He has salt and pepper hair, brown eyes, a mustache, a goatee, and wears glasses.  Mr. Scott was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket over a light gray jacket, black sweat pants, and grey tennis shoes.
