Detectives Investigate Undetermined Deaths in Gaithersburg

Update: November 26, 2018: The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) in Baltimore has determined that the cause of death for both Hung Ching Dou and Li Ping Dou was suicide.  

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division  are conducting a death investigation of two people that were found deceased in their home this morning in Gaithersburg.

Today, at approximately 10:27 a.m., Gaithersburg Police and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the 100 block of Chevy Chase Street in Gaithersburg, for the report of an adult male and adult female who were discovered deceased in their home by a home caregiver.

The two persons were found deceased on the scene.  The facts and circumstances surrounding this incident are currently being investigated by detectives from the Major Crimes Division.  Their deaths are currently undetermined.

Based off the preliminary investigation, there does not appear to be any threat to the immediate public related to this incident.  Additional information will be released as it becomes available.

The adult male has been identified as Hung Ching Dou, age 94.  The adult female has been identified as Li Ping Dou, age 85.
