Detectives Seek Public’s Help to Identify Silver Spring Armed Robbery Suspect; Surveillance Photographs Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – 3rd District Investigative Section continue to investigate the November 24 armed robbery of a resident that occurred at an automated teller machine (ATM) in Silver Spring.  Today, investigators are releasing surveillance photographs of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

On November 24 at approximately 9:28 a.m., 3rd District officers responded to the ATM located on the exterior of the Bank of America located at 8511 Georgia Avenue for the report of an armed robbery of a person.  The adult female victim stated to officers that she was standing at the ATM when she was approached from behind by the suspect.   The suspect implied that he was armed with a weapon, threatened the victim, and ordered the victim to withdraw money from the ATM.  The victim complied, and the suspect stole the cash the victim obtained from the ATM.

Investigators obtained surveillance photographs of the suspect from Bank of America and are asking anyone with information regarding the suspect or this armed robbery to call the 3rd District Investigative Section at 240-773-6870.  Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).  Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest and/or indictment for this felony crime.
