Detectives Investigate Stabbing at Westfield Shopping Center in Wheaton

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, December 11, 2018

This evening at approximately 4:48 p.m., Montgomery County police officers from the 4th District and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services personnel responded to the Westfield Shopping Center in Wheaton for the report of a stabbing.

Responding officers found an adult male victim with trauma to his body.  The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries but is expected to survive.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that this incident was not random in nature.

Detectives from the 4th District Investigative Section continue to investigate the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident.  Anyone who may have been a witness or has information regarding this incident should contact detectives at 240-773-5530.
