Detectives Investigate Serious Pedestrian-Involved Collision in Germantown

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department-Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a serious collision involving a pedestrian that occurred in Germantown.

On Wednesday, December 19, at approximately 8:17 p.m., 5th District officers and Fire and Rescue Service personnel responded to Middlebrook Road at Ridgecrest Drive for the report of a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the pedestrian was crossing eastbound Middlebrook Road at Ridgecrest Drive when she was struck by a 2010 Volkswagen Jetta that was traveling east on Middlebrook Road.

The pedestrian, identified as Joyce Asare Brown, age 50, of Quail Woods Drive in Germantown, was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Volkswagen, identified as Christian Alexander Martinez, age 20, of Emory Grove Road in Gaithersburg, was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
