Detectives Investigating Death in Rockville as Homicide

UPDATE: December 29, 2018 (8:50 am):  A suspect has been arrested for this homicide. The investigation is ongoing. As additional information is confirmed, it will be released.

Detectives with the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division are investigating the death of an adult female in Rockville as a homicide.

On Friday, December 28, at approximately 6:00 p.m., 1^st District officers and Rockville City Police Officers responded to the report of an assault that had just occurred in front of the Saint Raphael Catholic Church and School located at 1513 Dunster Road.  Responding officers located the victim outside of an entrance to the church suffering from trauma to her upper body.   The victim succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

Investigators are working to confirm the victim's identity and her identity will be released once family has been notified. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) in Baltimore will conduct an autopsy to determine the manner and cause of the victim’s death.
