Detectives Investigate Auto Theft; Surveillance Photograph of Suspect Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Centralized Auto Theft Section continue to investigate a December 6 theft of a Ford Escape that occurred in Downtown Silver Spring.  Today, investigators are releasing a surveillance photograph of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

The investigation by detectives determined that the adult male victim left his 2009 silver, Ford Escape unlocked and with the engine running in the 8700 block of Flower Avenue while he ran an errand in a nearby bank.  While at the bank, the victim observed the suspect enter the Escape and drive the vehicle from the area.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect or this stolen 2009 Ford Escape with Maryland license plate 1CC3812, is asked to call the Centralized Auto Theft Section at 240-773-6370.  Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).  Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest in this case.
