Detectives Seek Public’s Help to Identify Briggs Chaney Area Attempted Robbery Suspect; Surveillance Video Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District Investigative Section continue to investigate the November 6 attempted robbery of a resident that occurred at an automated teller machine (ATM) in the Briggs Chaney area.  Today, investigators are releasing surveillance video of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

The investigation by detectives revealed that on November 6, at approximately 9:51 p.m., the adult male victim was attempting to deposit cash at the Bank of America ATM on the exterior of the bank located at 13808 Outlet Drive.  The suspect approached the victim, assaulted him, and demanded the cash that the victim intended on depositing.  The victim fled and the suspect did not obtain any property.  The suspect was last seen on foot toward Castle Boulevard.

Investigators are asking anyone with information regarding the suspect or this attempted robbery to call the 3rd District Investigative Section at 240-773-6870.  Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).  Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest and/or indictment for this felony crime.
