Silver Alert Issued for Missing Clarksburg Area Man with Dementia (LOCATED)

Update: January 10, 2019 (9:07 am): James Loy has been located safe and unharmed and is being reunited with his family.  The Silver Alert has been cancelled.

The Montgomery County Department of Police is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing Clarksburg man who has dementia. A Silver Alert has been activated for 82-year-old James Loy.

Mr. Loy left his Peach Tree Road residence driving his vehicle at approximately 2:30 pm today. Mr. Loy is driving a 1976 white Pontiac Firebird Trans Am with a bird drawing on the hood and displaying Maryland tags: L57868 (Please see a stock photo of the vehicle below).

Mr. Loy is described as a white male who is approximately 5’9? tall, weighs approximately 150 pounds, and has brown eyes and is balding. He was last seen wearing a blue jacket, a light blue button-down shirt, navy pants, and a red baseball cap with the words, "GMC Jimmy" written on it. (Please see photos of Mr. Loy below. The clothing he is wearing in the photos is the same clothing and hat that he is wearing today).

Anyone with information regarding James Loy's whereabouts or anyone who sees his vehicle is asked to call 9-1-1.
