Detectives Investigate Rockville Bank Robbery; Surveillance Photographs of Suspect Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division continue to investigate the January 27 robbery of a SunTrust Bank in Rockville.  Today, detectives are releasing surveillance photographs of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

On Sunday, January 27, at approximately 4:05 p.m., 1st District officers responded to the SunTrust Bank located inside the Safeway grocery store at 14939 Shady Grove Road for the report of a robbery.  The investigation by detectives revealed that the suspect approached a teller and passed a note demanding cash.   The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled from the bank.

Anyone with information about the suspect or this bank robbery is asked to contact the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5100.  To be eligible for a reward, tipsters may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).  Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to the arrest and/or indictment of this suspect.  Tipsters will remain anonymous.
