Officers Intervene in Montgomery Village Residence Dog Attack

For Immediate Release: Saturday, February 2, 2019

On February 2, at approximately 8:50 p.m., the Montgomery County Emergency Communications Center (911) received a call for an assault at a residence in the 18000 block of Singing Pine Circle in Montgomery Village.

Officers from the Montgomery County Department of Police - 6th District, responded to the address.  The preliminary investigation found that two dogs had attacked one adult female who was able to escape the house, but another adult female was still within residence being attacked.  Officers observed the two dogs attacking the woman and were able to gain entry to the residence to effect a rescue, in the process, the two dogs were shot by an officer.  The two dogs succumbed to their injuries.

The two adult females were transported to a local hospital with significant, but non-life threatening injuries.

Detectives from the 6th District Investigative Section are investigating the facts and circumstances of the incident.  It is considered an active and on-going investigation.  More information will be released as it becomes available.
