Surveillance Photographs Released of Wheaton Pickpocket Suspect

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 4th District Patrol Investigations Unit are investigating a report of a pickpocket at a Safeway in Wheaton.

On the afternoon of November 19, 2018, a well-dressed African-American male used his suit coat to conceal the victim’s purse and remove it from her shopping cart. Later that day, the victim’s stolen credit cards were used to make fraudulent purchases in Hyattsville and Bladensburg, Maryland.

Today, investigators are releasing surveillance photographs of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help to identify him.

Anyone with information about the suspects or this crime is asked to contact the Montgomery County Department of Police – 4th District Patrol Investigations Unit at 240-773-5522. Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest for this crime.
