Police Ask for Public’s Help to Identify Suspect in Aspen Hill Area Thefts; Surveillance Video of Suspect Released

For Immediate Release: Thursday, April 11, 2019

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 4th District Patrol Investigations Unit continue to investigate a package theft and theft of property from a vehicle that occurred in the Aspen Hill area in late February.  Investigators believe that both thefts were committed by the same suspect:

  • On February 21, the suspect stole property from an unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence located in the 13000 block of Crispin Way.  (Note: surveillance video depicts the suspect trying the doors to vehicles parked in the driveway of a separate address on Crispin Way.  The suspect did not obtain any property in this incident due to the car doors being locked).
  • On February 24, the suspect stole a package from the front porch of the home located in the 4900 block of Adrian Street.
Today, investigators are releasing surveillance videos of the male suspect and are asking for the public’s help to identify him.

Thefts from unlocked vehicles continue to be a high-volume crime in Montgomery County. The Police Department urges all residents to take a role in preventing this type of crime by removing valuables from vehicles and locking all doors.

Anyone with information regarding this suspect is asked to call the 4th District Patrol Investigations Unit at 240-773-5476. Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to an arrest in this case.
