Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police - Major Crimes Division continue to investigate a series of ATM robberies that have occurred in Silver Spring this week.
This morning at 3:10 a.m., two suspects entered the 7-11 Store located at 12257 Tech Road in Silver Spring, and forced the storekeepers to lay down on the floor. A third suspect then rammed a pick-up truck through the front of the store near the ATM which was located inside. The suspects loaded the ATM onto the truck and made good their escape. The storekeepers were unharmed.
Earlier this week on April 30, a similar robbery occurred around 3:09 a.m. at the 7-11 Store located at 15539 New Hampshire Avenue in Silver Spring. Suspects entered the store, forced the storekeepers to lay on the floor and then rammed an unknown vehicle through the front of the store. The suspects left with the ATM and fled the scene. The storekeepers were not injured during this incident.
During both incidents, the suspects were dressed in black hoodies with their faces covered so little additional information is available on the suspects descriptors.
These incidents are similar to a number of other ATM robberies in the DMV area. Detectives urge anyone with information about the suspects or these robberies to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5100. For those who wish to remain anonymous, Crime Solvers is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for any information that leads to the arrest of the suspects.
