Aspen Hill Man Charged with Multiple Counts of Child Pornography

For Immediate Release: Thursday, May 30, 2019

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police - Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) have arrested and charged Henri Josue Guevara-Chicas, age 22, of the 13300 block of Galvez Street in Aspen Hill, with multiple counts of child pornography-related offenses along with offenses related to sex abuse of a minor.  During this investigation, detectives also learned that on multiple occasions Guevara-Chicas had secretly recorded juvenile females while they were in his home.

In mid-October 2018, SVID detectives began an investigation regarding the possible distribution of child pornography occurring through a computer in Montgomery County.   During the investigation, detectives determined that multiple images depicting child pornography were being stored and then distributed from a computer located in a residence in the 13300 block of Galvez Street in Silver Spring.

On May 1, 2019, detectives executed a search warrant on that Galvez Street address.  During this search warrant, detectives identified Guevara-Chicas as a resident of the home.  During a police interview, Guevara-Chicas made statements acknowledging that child pornography existed on his computer. Guevara-Chicas also made statements to detectives regarding the existence of multiple secretly recorded videos that he had made of three juvenile females while they were in his home on various occasions.

Later that day, detectives executed a second search warrant at Guevara-Chicas’ home in an effort to locate the secretly recorded home videos.  During this search warrant, detectives located a Micro-SD card containing images of the juvenile females that Guevara-Chicas had secretly recorded in his residence.

On May 28, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Guevara-Chicas charging him with multiple counts related to the possession of child pornography along with three counts of sex abuse of a minor.

This morning (May 30), Guevara-Chicas was arrested at his place of employment in Gaithersburg on the strength of the Montgomery County arrest warrant.  Bond information for Guevara-Chicas is not yet available.
