Detectives Investigate Stabbing in Downtown Silver Spring; Surveillance Photograph of Suspects Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police Department – 3rd District Investigative Section continue to investigate the May 8 stabbing of a 34-year-old male that occurred on Bonifant Street in Downtown Silver Spring.  Today, detectives are releasing a surveillance photograph of the two suspects and are asking for the public’s help in identifying them.

On Wednesday, May 8 at approximately 5:06 a.m., 3rd District officers responded to Holy Cross Hospital located at 1500 Forest Glen Road in Silver Spring, after hospital personnel contacted the police regarding a stabbing victim who had just been dropped off at the hospital.

The investigation by detectives revealed that at approximately 4:00 a.m., the victim was involved in a confrontation with one of the suspects outside of a commercial establishment in the 900 block of Bonifant Street.  A few minutes later, the victim was approached by the original suspect and the second suspect, one or both of whom were armed with a weapon.  The suspects assaulted the victim and during the assault, the victim was stabbed by one or both suspects.  After the stabbing, the suspects fled the area.   The victim was then driven to the hospital by friends.

The first suspect is described as an African American male who was wearing a black jacket over a grey shirt.  The second suspect is described as an African American male who was wearing a red shirt.
