Detectives Investigate Shooting in Germantown

For Immediate Release: Friday, May 31, 2019

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 5th District Investigative Section are investigating a shooting incident that occurred yesterday evening in Germantown.

On Thursday, May 30 at approximately 9:25 p.m., 5th District officers and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the 12600 block of Grey Eagle Court for the report of a shooting that had just occurred.   First responders located a 26-year-old male suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his upper body and a 21-year-old female suffering from a non-life-threatening injury to her lower body.  The male victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.  The female victim was treated by Fire and Rescue personnel at the scene.

The investigation by detectives determined that just prior to the shooting, an altercation between multiple subjects (which included the victims) took place in the parking area of the neighborhood.  The preliminary investigation indicates this incident does not appear to be a random event.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
