Detectives Investigate Commercial Burglary in Bethesda; Surveillance Video of Suspect Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 2nd District Investigative Section continue to investigate the May 24 commercial burglary of the Penney Design Group office located at 8120 Woodmont Avenue in Bethesda.  Today, detectives are releasing surveillance video of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

On May 28 at approximately 9:30 a.m., 2nd District officers responded to the Penney Design Group office for the report of a burglary that had just been discovered by an employee arriving to open the business. Officers spoke with the employee who stated that property was missing from the office.  A review of the business’ surveillance video revealed that on May 24 at approximately 4:15 p.m., the male suspect entered the building and made his way toward the Penney Design Group office.  The suspect forced entry into a side office of the business, stole property, and left the building.
