Man Responsible for Several Suntrust Bank Robberies in the Area Identified; Found Deceased in Hagerstown

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police - Major Crimes Division have identified the man responsible for several Suntrust Bank robberies committed in the area since the beginning of the year.

Shivi Brian Mohanani-Neil, age 28, of Pottstown, Pennsylvania, was identified as the person responsible for several Suntrust bank robberies in Montgomery County as well as committing additional robberies in the Northern Virginia area.

Mohnani-Neil entered the Suntrust Bank located within the Safeway grocery store at 14939 Shady Grove Road, in the Falls Grove area of Rockville, obtained currency from the bank and fled the scene on January 27th, February 3rd, and March 3rd.  An additional bank robbery occurred on April 4th, at 15411 New Hampshire Avenue, in Cloverly.  Mohnani-Neil is believed to be responsible for additional robberies in Northern Virginia.

Detectives were able to identify Mohnani-Neil as the suspect over the course of their investigation and obtained a warrant for his arrest charging him with four counts of robbery.

While actively looking for Mohnani-Neil, authorities in the Hagerstown area of Maryland were able to find Mohnani-Neil, deceased in a hotel room in Hagerstown.  No foul play was suspected in Mohnani-Neil's death.

Further investigation into Mohnani-Neil found that he had been previously arrested for the following offenses in Pennsylvania: Robbery, CDS Violations, Theft, Receiving Stolen Property, Assault, Terroristic Threats, Forgery, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, and Identity Theft.
