Police Investigate Shooting Incident in Burtonsville

For Immediate Release: Saturday, June 8, 2019

The Montgomery County Department of Police - 3rd District Investigative Section, is investigating a shooting incident that occurred last night in Burtonsville.

On June 7th, at approximately 10:50 pm, an officer from the 3rd District was handling a call for service on the ramp to southbound Route 29 in Burtonsville.  The officer observed two vehicles at the light on Briggs Chaney Road exchanging gunfire with each other.  The two vehicles immediately fled the scene.  One vehicle was described as a black, 4-door vehicle.  The second vehicle was a white, Cadillac which fled the scene but was recovered a short distance from the incident.  The occupants had fled on foot.

Preliminary investigation indicates this event was not random in nature.  Detectives continue to investigate and gather information into the facts and circumstances of this incident..
