Detectives Investigate Serious Pedestrian-Involved Collision in Rockville

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police- Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a serious pedestrian-involved collision that occurred yesterday in a loading dock of an apartment building located in Rockville.

On Sunday, June 23, at approximately 1:39 p.m., 1st district officers and Fire & Rescue personnel responded to a pedestrian-involved collision that had just occurred at 1101 Higgins Place.

Preliminary investigation by CRU detectives revealed that an employee of a moving company, Malik Brooks, age 23, of Cross Ridge Way in Germantown, was backing a company moving truck into a loading dock of the building.  Another moving company employee, Anthony A. Liason, age 43, of Nutmeg Place in Germantown, was outside of the vehicle and was assisting the driver (Brooks) in backing the vehicle.  During this time, Liason became pinned between the truck and the side of the building.

Liason was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries where he remains in critical condition.
