Update: Additional Arrests Made in Rockville Gun Shop Burglary

The Montgomery County Department of Police - Firearms Investigations Unit (FIU) continues to investigate the June 13 burglary of the United Gun Shop located at 5465 Randolph Road.  Today, investigators are announcing the arrest of two additional suspects:

  • Demico Henderson, Jr., age 18, of Glen Burnie, Maryland.  Arrested on June 25, 2019.  Charged with second-degree burglary with the intent to steal a firearm and possession of a firearm by a minor.  (see note below*)
  • Mirakle Smith, age 20, of Elkridge, Maryland.  Arrested on June 14, 2019.  Charged with accessory after the fact.
Anyone with information about this burglary is urged to call the Firearms Investigations Unit at 240-773-5959.  To be eligible for a reward, tipsters may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or enter a tip online. Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest and/or indictment of a suspect.  Tipsters may remain anonymous.

This investigation is a coordinated effort between the Montgomery County Department of Police, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and the Howard County Police Department under the Maryland Criminal Intelligence Network (MCIN). The Governor’s Office of Crime Control and Prevention (GOCCP) provides grant funding and strategic support to MCIN member sites to identify, disrupt, and dismantle criminal organizations through inter-agency collaboration and data sharing to make Maryland safer.

Note: At the time of the crime, Henderson, Jr. was 17 years old.  He is being charged as an adult.  Per departmental policy, his photograph will not be released as he was a juvenile at the time of the offense.
