Detectives Investigate Series of Thefts from Eyeglass store in Cloverly; Surveillance Video of Suspects Released

For Immediate Release: Monday, July 1, 2019

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police - 4th District Patrol Investigations Unit are investigating three separate incidents of thefts of eyeglasses from the I Care Doctor store located at 15426 New Hampshire Avenue in Cloverly.  Investigators believe that all these thefts were committed by the same suspects.  Today, investigators are releasing surveillance video of the three suspects and are asking for the public’s help to identify them.

The following thefts from the I Care Doctor store in Cloverly were reported to police:

• On May 22 at approximately 1:40 p.m., a male and a female suspect entered the I Care Doctor store and stole approximately $4,300 worth of eyeglasses and sunglasses.
• On May 31 at approximately 3:00 p.m., a male and a female suspect entered the I Care Doctor store and stole approximately $1,400 worth of eyeglasses and sunglasses.
• On June 25 at approximately 4:00 p.m., two male suspects entered the I Care Doctor store and stole approximately $1,100 worth of eyeglasses and sunglasses.

Anyone with information about these suspects or these thefts is asked to call the 4th District Patrol Investigations Unit at 240-773-5522.  Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).  Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest and/or an indictment for this crime.
