Montgomery County Experiences 9-1-1 Service Disruption

For Immediate Release: Thursday, July 18, 2019

On July 18, at approximately 8:30 a.m., the Montgomery County 9-1-1 Phone System experienced an intermittent outage on a network segment that connects the components of the system.

While taking corrective action, there was an eight-minute service disruption starting at 9:35 a.m. where some 9-1-1 calls may not have gone through.  Callers would have received a message saying they had reached a non-working number.

At this time, we are aware of one caller requesting basic life support medical services that was impacted.  The County is working with our 9-1-1 service provider to identify how many callers might have been affected.
