Update: Mother of Newborn Baby Identified; Investigation Continues

For Immediate Release: Sunday, August 18, 2019

Detectives from the Special Investigations Division have identified and located the mother of the newborn baby left in a wooded area in Silver Spring.

At this time, the mother is receiving medical care at a hospital.

The female baby remains in stable condition at a hospital and is currently under the care and custody of Montgomery County Child Welfare Services.

This investigation is ongoing and therefore no additional information will be released at this time.
