Police Seek Public's Assistance in Locating Missing Bethesda Man (LOCATED)

UPDATE:  Mohammed Vafai has returned home, safe and unharmed on 8/28/2019.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 2nd District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing Bethesda man.

Mohammed Mahdi Vafai, age 31, of the 5800 blocks of Greenlawn Drive in Bethesda, was last seen at his home on Monday, August 26th around 11:30 pm.

Vafai is described as standing 6’ 0” tall and weighing approximately 230 pounds. He has brown eyes, and short black hair with facial stubble.  He was last seen wearing gray shorts, a blue t-shirt, and brown shoes.   A photo is included in this press release.

Vafai may be utilizing the METRO system in the area.

Police and family are concerned for Vafai's welfare.
