Detectives Arrest Montgomery Village Man for Homicide

For Immediate Release: Thursday, August 29, 2019

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police - Major Crimes Division have arrested a Montgomery Village man for the murder of his wife.

Jean Jocelin Pierre, age 46, of the 20100 block of Rothbury Lane in Montgomery Village was arrested and charged by detectives with the murder of his wife, Nerlande Foreste, on August 29, 2019.

On the evening of August 24, 2019, Pierre responded to the 6th District of the Montgomery County Department of Police to report that his wife, Nerlande Foreste, was missing.  A press release detailing Foreste's disappearance was issued on August 25th.

The subsequent investigation into Foreste's disappearance revealed several inconsistencies in Pierre's account of events that led detectives to believe Pierre was potentially involved in Foreste's disappearance.

On August 29, 2019, detectives executed a search warrant on the Rothbury Lane address.  Evidence was recovered that indicated that Pierre's account of Foreste's disappearance was not accurate.  Pierre later made statements indicating that he had murdered Foreste.

Pierre was transported to the Central Processing Unit where he was charged with 1st Degree Murder.  Pierre is being held without bond at the Montgomery County Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing.  Detectives urge anyone with information regarding this homicide to contact the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070.
