Detectives Investigate Fatal Motorcycle Collision in Gaithersburg

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police- Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a fatal motorcycle collision that occurred yesterday, August 29, in Gaithersburg.

On August 29, at approximately 4:42 p.m., officers from the 6th district and Montgomery County Fire/Rescue personnel responded to a vehicular collision that had just occurred on southbound Woodfield Road prior to Snouffer School Road.



Preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of a 2014 Harley Davidson Motorcycle had collided into the rear of a Honda HRV operated by Jose D. Chay-Salas of Gaithersburg.  The driver of the motorcycle suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.  Several hours later, the driver of the motorcycle succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The driver of the Honda was uninjured.





The driver of the motorcycle has been identified as Gregory Anthony Davis Sr., age 65, of the 18800 blocks of Poppy Seed Lane in Germantown.







The facts and circumstances surrounding this collision are still under investigation.  The Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate this collision.  Anyone with information regarding this collision is asked to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240-773-6620.
