MCP and FBI Continue to Investigate Suspicious Disappearance of Gaithersburg Man; Reward Offered for Information

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division and The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) - Baltimore Division continue to investigate the disappearance of Ronal Giovani Vasquez-Flores of Gaithersburg, who was 23 at the time of his disappearance in July 2016.  Based on the investigation thus far, investigators are concerned that Vasquez-Flores was a victim of foul play and that the circumstances of his disappearance may be gang-related. Anyone who has information about this missing person case is asked to come forward to law enforcement.

Vasquez-Flores, of the 100 block of Coral Reef Terrace in Gaithersburg, was reported as a missing person to the Police Department by a friend on July 16, 2016.

Vasquez-Flores is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5’ 6” tall, and weighing 130 pounds.  He has brown eyes and brown hair.  Photographs of him are included at the conclusion of this release.

During this investigation, detectives have been able to confirm the following information regarding the disappearance of Vasquez-Flores that may aid the public in assisting with this case:

  • Vasquez-Flores was the victim of a physical assault that occurred in the area of Killarney Lane and Muddy Branch Road in Gaithersburg on July 13, 2016. This assault is believed to be gang-related.
  • Vasquez-Flores' last known whereabouts were in Virginia.
Anyone with information regarding the disappearance of Ronal Giovani Vasquez-Flores is urged to contact the Baltimore Division of the FBI at 410-265-8080 or the Montgomery County Department of Police - Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070.  The FBI is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the whereabouts of Vasquez-Flores or information about his disappearance.

Detectives also want to locate Vasquez-Flores' family.  Anyone with information about his family or relatives is asked to call the Montgomery County Police Department - Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070.
