Detectives Investigate Bank Robbery in Rockville; Surveillance Photographs of Suspect Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating the robbery of an Old Line Bank that occurred this morning in Rockville.  Investigators are releasing surveillance photographs of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

This morning (Wednesday, October 9), at approximately 10:04 a.m., 1st District officers and officers from the Rockville City Police Department responded to the Old Line Bank located at 1801 Rockville Pike for the report of a robbery.  The investigation by detectives determined that the suspect approached a teller and passed a note announcing the robbery.  The suspect demanded cash and implied that he was armed with a weapon.  The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of currency and fled from the bank.

Anyone with information about the suspect or this bank robbery is asked to contact the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5100.  To be eligible for a reward, tipsters may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).  Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to the arrest and/or indictment of this suspect.  Tipsters will remain anonymous.
