For Immediate Release: Tuesday, October 22, 2019

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division have charged Jason Kenneth Rollins, age 34, of Lost Knife Circle in Montgomery Village, for the October 16 armed robbery of the SunTrust Bank located at 100 Gibbs Street in Rockville.

On Wednesday, October 16, at approximately 2:28 p.m., officers responded to the SunTrust bank for the report of a robbery.  Detectives determined that the suspect, later identified as Rollins, approached a teller and showed a note that demanded money and stated that Rollins had a gun.  Rollins obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled from the bank.

Through an investigative lead, Rollins was developed as the suspect.  Later that evening, officers located Rollins exiting his apartment wearing the same clothing that he had worn while committing the robbery.  He was placed under arrest.  During a search of his home, detectives located additional evidence of the crime.

Rollins was transported to the Central Processing Unit where he is being held without bond.
