Detectives Investigate Shooting in Chevy Chase as Home Invasion Robbery

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating a shooting that occurred at an apartment in Chevy Chase this morning as a home invasion robbery.  Detectives do not believe this is a random event.

Today, November 18, at approximately 4:05 a.m., 2nd District officers responded to an apartment building in the 8400 block of Chevy Chase Lake Terrace for the report of a shooting that had just occurred. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male and an adult female suffering each from an apparent gunshot wound. The male and female were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

Preliminary investigation by detectives has determined that during this robbery, two male suspects, with their faces concealed, entered the apartment and at least one of the suspects displayed a gun. An altercation ensued between the suspects and victims and during this altercation the victims were shot.
