Detectives Investigate Residential Burglary and Thefts from Vehicles

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police-1st District are investigating a residential burglary and thefts from vehicles that occurred on November 13 in the Derwood area and are believed to have been committed by the same suspect. Detectives are releasing surveillance photos of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

The investigation determined that on November 13 between the hours of midnight and 6:00 a.m., an unknown suspect committed the following crimes:

  • 7100 block of Needwood Road: suspect entered the garage through an unlocked door and rummaged through the vehicle in the garage; nothing was taken.
  • 7200 block of Deer Lake Lane: suspect entered two vehicles parked in the driveway; nothing was taken.
  • 16200 block of Deer Lake Road: suspect entered the residence via an unlocked rear door and removed a purse from the residence. The suspect attempted to withdraw money using a credit card taken from the purse at a nearby bank.

Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest and/or indictment of the suspects.  Tipsters may remain anonymous.
