Detectives Investigate Wheaton Gas Station Armed Robbery; Surveillance Photographs of Suspect Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division continue to investigate the November 25 armed robbery of a Shell gas station in Wheaton.  Today, investigators are releasing surveillance photographs of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

On Monday, November 25, at approximately 4:37 p.m., 4th District officers responded to the Shell gas station located at 12401 Georgia Avenue for the report of an armed robbery that had just occurred.

The investigation by detectives revealed that the suspect entered the gas station and approached an employee who was working behind the counter.   The suspect implied that he was armed with a weapon and stole property and cash from behind the counter.  The suspect fled on foot and was last seen eastbound on Layhill Road.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect or this armed robbery is asked to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070.  Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).  Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest in this case.
