Police Investigate Serious Collision Involving a Pedestrian in Rockville

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police - Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a serious pedestrian collision that occurred today in Rockville.

On Friday, December 13, at approximately 7:18 a.m., officers from the 2nd District and MCFRS personnel responded to the area of Montrose Road at Bargate Court for a personal injury collision involving a 17-year old male pedestrian.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the 17-year old male was attempting to cross eastbound Montrose Road to board a Montgomery County Public School bus when he was struck by a 2018 Jeep Renegade, driven by Reine Ngoumou Nee Nganzeu, age 61, of Rockville. The 17-year old male was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Reine Ngoumou Nee Nganzeu was not injured and remained on the scene.

Detectives continue to work to determine the facts and circumstances surrounding this collision.  Anyone with information regarding this collision is asked to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240-773-6620.
