Idaho Man Arrested for Parental Abduction of Child

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, January 22, 2020

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police - Special Victims Investigations Division are announcing the arrest of Chase Zarek Rogers, age 25, of Pocatello, Idaho, for the parental abduction of his child in October 2019.

On September 14, 2019, it was reported to the Montgomery County Department of Police that Chase Zarek Rogers had left the State of Idaho with his son, Lucious Rogers, age 5 months, and failed to return.  It was believed by Idaho authorities that Rogers may be in the area of Montgomery County, MD.  A press release requesting the public's assistance in locating Rogers was distributed in the hopes of finding Rogers and his son.

On October 18, 2019, detectives from the Special Victims Investigations Division applied for a warrant on Chase Zarek Rogers charging him with Custodial Child Abduction and related charges under Family Law in the State of Maryland.

On January 17, 2020, Chase Zarek Rogers was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Tuscon, Arizona on the strength of the arrest warrant.  Lucious Rogers was located safe and unharmed.

Rogers will be awaiting extradition back to Maryland to face charges in Montgomery County at a later date.
