Pedestrian Struck by Train in Germantown

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating the death of an adult male who was fatally struck by a train last night in Germantown.

On Wednesday, January 22, at approximately 6:30 p.m., 5th District officers and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services personnel responded for the report of a pedestrian who had been struck by a CSX Freight train at the Germantown Marc train station located at 19301 Mateny Hill Road.

The initial investigation has revealed that the victim was crossing the tracks at the platform when he was struck by a CSX Freight train.  The victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene.  The victim has been identified as Randolph Garth, age 60, of Martinsburg, West Virginia.
