Detectives Ask for Public’s Assistance in Germantown Assault Investigation: Surveillance Video of Suspect Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 5th District Patrol Investigations Unit are investigating the January 13 assault that occurred inside a 7-Eleven convenience store located at 12861 Clopper Road in Germantown. Today, detectives are releasing surveillance video footage of the suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.

At approximately 2300 hours on January 13, the suspect entered the 7-Eleven in Germantown. The suspect became irate with the store clerk and walked behind the counter and began to physically assault him.   The suspect produced a weapon and made verbal threats to the employee. A female is observed going behind the counter while the assault was taking place and attempted to lead the suspect away. The female is considered a person of interest.

A second employee told the suspect to leave the store. The suspect came toward the second employee and cut him on the chin. Both suspect and accompanying female exited the store in an unknown direction.

Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest in this case.
